Personal History
We moved to Rochester, Minnesota in 1976 with a new baby. My
husband's job with IBM brought us here from Toronto, Ontario in
Canada. We were ready for a change of pace.
I put my career as a food microbiologist on hold to become a
homemaker. Two more babies came along.
We’ve appreciated raising our three children in Rochester.
Growing up in Rochester has been a good springboard for them to
participate in the world as responsible, compassionate people.
Our family has lived and worked in different countries as
well as different regions of the United States. It’s been our
good fortune to experience many different lifestyles and cultures.
I’m active in the community. Currently I volunteer as a
mediator for the Southeastern
Minnesota Mediation Services, committee member
for Olmsted County’s United Way, committee and board member for
the Southeast Minnesota Association of Realtors. I ’m a member of
the Rochester Area Chamber of Commerce and an alumnus of its
leadership (LGR) program. I’m also an active member in the American
Business Women’s Association. I’ve volunteered in the Rochester
public schools, Mayo Clinic, Good Food Store Coop, and Community Net
(now merged into the United Way).
Networking and connecting people is what I do best. In
1987 I chose a new career in real estate instead of going back into
a laboratory. I wanted to work with people and the cliché “I love
houses”. With the exception of two years in the mid 1990’s
working as a relocation counselor for a large real estate firm, I
have worked as a REEALTOR since 1987. My role as a REALTOR is not
only to generate an income and a thriving business but to also be of
service to people.
